I hear the stranger knocking on the door,
The visitor passing by,
The wayfarer who missed his road.
They stray by, Lord, in need
And we are the hosts
On the pilgrim way.
I open the door, Lord,
Hail the outsider, treat the visitor,
Lord, in Your name.
Because You are there, Lord,
In the traveller and the beggar,
In every-passer by who prays. You are welcome.
