Post card from Jeremy in Spain

Lord, I found the jongleurs and tumblers today
All mixed up with the pilgrims on the Camino.
They jostled elbows and knees
In the small monastery chapel,
Mingling the colours and smells of all the world.
They babbled in voices and accents and song
In hymns and psalms cacophonous.
The little priest looked confused too
But broke into holy smiles.
He asked the travelling gypsy to translate his service words,
Then the English scientist, rational and keen, to translate her words
And the trading merchant to translate again.
So they all translated
And joined, as one, the communion of the Word.
