Pentecost

Last call and ready to jump.
Lord, I am on the end of the phone
And would like a word.
I am balanced on the Avon,
On the ledge of the bridge.

But remembering that mountain shelf near Jericho,
Your 40 days far out of Jerusalem,
In the red waste of the desert.
He tempted You to jump Lord, I remember,
And You called out, swayed
But stood firm on the rock,
Kept the balance of the Word.
So You have seen the view Lord.
‘You are with us.’
